Our well-planned science curriculum allows children to know more, remember more and explain more, therefore demonstrating a secure progression across the different concepts. Our curriculum is based on the Collins Snap Science scheme of work. Children are taught about the world around them, animals, plants, different materials, energy and forces. More importantly, they are taught to ask “How?” and “Why?” and taught how to find the answers through practical science investigations. We develop opportunities for all our children to be curious and to develop their oracy skills when explaining their conclusions. The use of key assessment questions within each concept allows teachers to make ongoing assessments and if needed, make relevant and appropriate adaptations to the planning.
